Fieldgate Sports Complex: From construction to community.
A new sports complex has a story that extends beyond the building itself. We worked with the Town of Whitby to shape the video formats, plan production and share that story—from construction and community perspectives to a multi-stop virtual tour and grand opening coverage.
Help the community understand what’s taking shape
The Town of Whitby needed to bring residents into the story of its new flagship sports complex.
That meant showing how the facility was being built, hearing from the organisations that helped shape its design and giving people a way to explore the spaces as the project reached completion.
Our work with the Town spanned those different stages, creating a collection of videos around the facility and the community it was built to serve.

One facility. A story told from Many perspectives.
Over more than a dozen site visits, we captured the project as it developed and spoke with representatives from hockey clubs, swim teams, soccer clubs and other community organizations involved in shaping the design.
Their perspectives brought a human dimension to the construction story: the people, activities and needs behind the spaces.
As the complex approached opening, the focus expanded to helping audiences explore the facility through a 10-stop virtual tour, followed by coverage of the grand opening.

The construction story
A feature video documenting the construction of the complex and the undertaking behind the finished facility.
Community perspectives
Interviews with representatives from the organizations that helped shape the design, connecting the facility’s spaces to the people who would use them.
Multi-Stop virtual tour
A series of videos introducing different areas of the complex, giving audiences a way to explore the facility before visiting or even learn a bit more while they’re there.
The Grand Opening
Photo and video coverage marking the transition from a construction project to an open community facility with all of the appropriate fanfare!
